Military Family Worth

Posted by mrfixit on November 11, 2010

I came across this piece on Snopes.com.  It refers back to commentary from Rush Limbaugh about the comparison of compassion for those who die in combat and those who died on 9/11.

It is important to recall the difference, but none the less, we are a compassionate caring nation, and as such often have disproportionate generosity.

We should not forget 9/11, but it would be a bigger tragedy if we failed to acknowledge the many sacrifices before and since, where military members and families pay an enormous price for our security.

I will say this, the military families are most honorable for NOT demanding or expecting such massive payouts, they serve knowing they’ll not get such attention or even respect, recall the way many treated the returning vets from Vietnam.

On this day, and every day we should take a moment to recall the countless sacrifices made by all those that serve us in providing our security.
