Military Service is NOT a Right.

Posted by mrfixit on October 19, 2010

I contend that the move to push open service is only aimed at the destruction of the effectiveness of the military.  It is not about mission, it is all about forcing acceptance, creating tension, eroding morale and cohesion and ultimately making the US Military less effective in all areas.

Those pushing the agenda make all kinds of claims about their right to serve, but there is no such right! The military has too many standards to mention, including standards on behavior which harms the image, morale or effectiveness of it’s units.  Open gay behavior, as with open heterosexual behavior can not be permitted as part of the military structure within ranks.

How are we now going to assign quarters? Are we going to force gays and straights to share facilities, and if so, when can the straight men demand to share with the women, and I’m sure a few women might ask to share with men.  You how  see this leads to chaos?  There have to be standards, and we are now making a special exemption for a TINY percentage of the population, and in the process adding huge inconvenience to the rest.

This is not about orientation, it is about BEHAVIOR.  No one has to know or care what a person’s orientation is if they can perform the job and not allow it to interfere, but when they MUST make it an issue, then it IS an issue, and cannot then be removed as a serious distraction to the mission.

The military is about mission, service, and sacrifice.  It is NOT about a jobs and college education program as the left progressives would like you to believe.  They aim to erode the effectiveness of our military, and this is but one of many ways they are aiming to accomplish that objective.
